My band recently did a very rough home recording on a Mac using garageband. I now want to edit the track because i cant hear the bass and its pretty bad quality. Is there a way I can split up the single track into different ones to make it easier to edit?

Also does Ardour have a equalizer that is more than just volume control and is there a really good tutorial online some where?

Ahhh, the I remember wanting to do the same thing in my early days. I’m afraid I don’t have good news though - you can’t exactly split the tracks into guitar and bass etc. The best you can do is to take a sort of mastering approach where you apply EQ, compression and effects on the whole stereo track. This isn’t ideal but can be more effective than one would think. One more point - you’re not going to find a guide which tells you exactly how to use an EQ but more the general idea of EQ and effects.
