Post Alternative to Ubuntu Studio?

Hey guys,

I have recently lost my old Ubuntu Studio installation after my hard disk decided that life was too difficult and promptly died. I heard that Ubuntu Studio started to take a bit of a dive towards the end there (which is really sad) and was wandering what your thoughts were on the alternatives.

So, what are the best Linux flavour alternatives to Ubuntu studio?

I found it really hard to move from Ubuntu Studio mainly because of the PPA. Lots of apps i use are registered in Launchpad, so i have the latest version without the pain of compiling (and sometime failing in my case…) which can be frustrated.
